Opening the window to Wirral's past Wirral Archives Service collects, cares for and offers public access to thousands of records relating to Wirral's past. Our searchroom is based in the distinguished setting of Birkenhead's Victorian Town Hall Building, now home to Wirral Museum. Researchers are welcome to visit us during Archives opening hours to consult original documents and a range of other resources. We are visited by around 2000 visitors each year and receive many more enquiries from across the globe. Whilst family historians form a growing user group; we also provide information for local, social, maritime and industrial historians, university and college students and school children, the media and tourist industries and many others.
