Information
You can use any of Wirral’s 24 libraries free of charge.
To join, all you have to do is provide proof of your name and address and fill in a simple form. Libraries use a computerised credit-card style ticket, which is interchangeable between the libraries.
Borrowing
You
may borrow books for up to 3 weeks at a time and, unless another reader
wants them, renew them either in person, by post, by telephone or via
this website. If you return your books late, you may have to pay a fine.
Finding Your Books
The books in your library are arranged in a special order so that you can find them quickly.
- Fiction (novels) is arranged in alphabetical order by the author’s surname.
- Non-fiction (factual) is arranged in subject order.
Requests
If you cannot find the book you want, we will do our best to obtain it for you.
You can request items such as books, journals, sets of plays, vocal and orchestral scores.
If we do not have what you want in stock, we may buy the item you require or if possible borrow a copy from either the British Lending Library or another library in the UK. There is a small fee for this service, and a supplementary charge is payable if we have to borrow the item from another library outside Wirral.
