Welcome to WHISP
Wirral Health Information and Support Project

A positive approach to people living with cancer
A Friendly information service based in the community to give non-clinical support to
people affected by cancer in a non-clinical environment

What do we offer:

GUIDANCE

We offer guidance and support to anyone affected by cancer. Whether you have cancer yourself or are a relative, friend or carer of someone with cancer, we are here to help you.

Different stages along the cancer journey can bring different emotions. It can be hard to talk about these emotions with people you love. We are here to listen to your concerns

SUPPORT

  • A friendly drop in service
  • A selection of leaflets, books and videos or DVDs on all aspects of cancer are available
  • Details of local and national support services and organisations
  • Confidential face-to-face support
  • Financial Help – having cancer can bring extra costs at a time when you may need to stop work for a while. We may be able to help you with advise on benefits or applying for a Macmillan grant.

WHISP is changing, and we hope for the better

The service has been running for three years and it is time to review the service with the aim of making it a better service for people affected by cancer.
