Council One Stop Shop:
The One-Stop-Shop is open all day between 9-5 (no lunchtime closures).

CDs, DVDs & Talking Books (on CD, MP3 CD, Playaway and cassette) are all available for hire. There is a charge for this service - please contact the library for details and concessions. Talking Books are available free in some cases -again, ask us for details. We also have a collection of foreign language courses on CD and tape.

We stock a small collection of greetings cards and bookmarks with a local theme.

"Toddler Time" for Under-5's.
Held on Monday 2:30 pm during term times - stories, rhymes & simple crafts.

Baby Bounce and Rhyme
Sessions are run on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30am - refreshments provided.
Bring your babies along for a fun half-hour of rhymes and music and stay for a chat afterwards.

Junior Reading Group
West Kirby Wordgobblers meet on the second Monday in the month at 4:15 pm (contact the library for exact dates due to Bank Holidays, school holidays,  etc.)

Knit and Natter
This takes place fortnightly on Friday mornings.  Check with library for exact dates.
Refreshments available (for a small donation).
Help and advice on knitting given - a very friendly & sociable group. All ages and abilities most welcome.

Adult Reading Group
Meet on the first Thursday of the month at 6:00 pm.  Please contact the library for exact dates and details of the books we discuss.

Friends of Hoylake and West Kirby Libraries
The "Friends of Hoylake & West Kirby Libraries" organise events (usually monthly) throughout the year. Examples include talks, craft demonstrations, coffee mornings & quizzes.  Membership costs £3 per person and £5 per couple and lasts from April until March.  "Friends" get discounted entrance to events & a regular newsletter.

Computers and Courses
"Learndirect" run a range of courses for members of the public here at the Library. Birkenhead Sixth Form College also hold computer classes here.
We also have a number of computers available for public access and IT support is on hand if required.

Riverside Writers
Riverside Writers (a local creative writing group) meet monthly in the library.

Exhibitions
We have exhibition space on the First Floor and regular exhibitions and displays throughout the year.

Wirral Society for the Blind & Partially Sighted Outreach Advocacy Service have a "drop-in" session here fortnightly - please contact the library for date of next session.

Wirral Creations sell a wide variety of products including cards, pottery  and gifts from a stall within the library - check with library staff for their next sale.

La Jolie Ronde hold French classes for children on Mondays after school.

Hot drinks are available throughout the day at very reasonable prices.
