Wirral Libraries have four audio/visual departments:-

• Bebington Central Library (0151 643 7217)
• Birkenhead Central Library (0151 652 6106)
• Wallasey Central Library (0151 639 2334)
• West Kirby Library (0151 929 7808)

These four sites have an extensive collection of CDs, DVDs, Videos, Talking Books available on CD, Cassette, MP3CD (A versatile audio book on disc which plays on the following items: IPod, Laptops, MP3 Players, DVD Players, PCs and Mobile Phones), Playaways (a complete book on a portable MP3 player) and Language Courses available on CD, Cassette & Playaways.

DVD/Video Library
Wirral Libraries have a comprehensive collection of DVDs and Videos available for loan. Anyone who is over the age of 15 is eligible to join the DVD/Video Library. If you are under 18 a birth certificate is required to show proof of age. To join the DVD/Video Library there is a lifetime membership fee of £7.00 or £5.00 concession (60+). New titles have a loan period of 3 days and are available for £2.00 (£1.50 concession). The majority of titles have a loan period of 1 week and are available at £1.30 (£1.00 concession).

Talking Books
We have an extensive collection of talking books at Wirral Libraries which are available for loan on CD, Playaways (a complete book on a portable MP3 player), MP3CD and Cassette. Talking books are available on a 2 week loan period and are free for the partially sighted.

Language Courses
We have a large collection of language courses available at the audio/visual libraries. Courses are available on the following formats: CD, Playaways and Cassettes. Each course has a loan period of 4 weeks, they can be borrowed through our Annual Subscription membership or our Pay As You Go system and are free for the partially sighted.

CDs
We have an extensive collection of CDs available for loan at the audio/visual libraries. CDs are available for loan for a 2 week period. There are two ways in which to join our CD library - Pay A Yearly Subscription (ideal for regular borrowing) or Pay As You Borrow (You may borrow up to six items at any one time).
